Our topic will be "Ministering to Men." Caruso Brown, born to the parents of Carrie Perkins Brown and Moses Brown on June 27, 1954 in Washington D.C. Received his elementary and high school education in Jersey City, N. J. and graduated from Virginia State University with a B.S. in Business Administration May, 1976. Caruso met Christine Daggett, the love of his life, and his bride at Virginia State University and was joined in matrimony July, 1979. They have two daughters Minister Tamyca Danielle Brown 10/15/1982, and Junior Deaconess Megan Nicole Brown, 07/13/1990. Caruso was employed at Central Virginia Community Health Center from 1976 to 1985. He currently serves as the Deputy Executive Director Services at Region Ten Community Services Board where he has been employed since 1985. Caruso accepted Christ and was baptized at the New Hope Baptist Church in Jersey City N.J. He credits the Ebenezer Baptist Church of Dillwyn Virginia, the place he proudly calls his home church, as the place where he first made Christ the Lord of his life. Caruso and his family joined Mount Zion First African Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of Dr. Alvin Edwards in 1981. He has served as Chairman of the Finance Committee, Church school teacher, Assistant Superintendent of the Church School, Chairman of the Drama Ministry, where he serves as a playwright and director. He was ordained as a Deacon in 2001 and he preached his initial sermon May, 2006. Tune in on Wednesday evening to hear this dynamic man speak to us in regards to Ministering to Men.

On the eve of the 11th anniversary of Another World’s final episode, Tony Award nominee and Daytime Emmy winner Charles Keating joins me to talk about life in his world. Keating, best known for his role of Carl Hutchins on the long running NBC daytime drama Another World has an impressive repertoire. Much to the delight of daytime audiences, Keating has had roles in other daytime staples such as As the World Turns, All My Children and Port Charles. In 1996, Keating won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his portrayal of the evil turned romantic Carl Hutchins. London-born Keating is no stranger to the British stage and screen. He’s appeared in British favorites like Brideshead Revisited, BBC2 Playhouse and Crown Court. Even with his television and screen successes, Keating has never migrated far away from the stage. Jackson, Sr. launched Staying True to America's National Destiny (STAND), a national grassroots organization dedicated to restoring America's Judeo-Christian history, faith and values and preserving its Christian culture. Its signature project is establishing January as "American History Month", a time for celebrating the nobility of our nation's founding and history. He is originally from Chester, Pennsylvania. After three years in the U.S. Marine Corp, he attended the University of Massachusetts (Boston), graduating Summa Cum Laude with a B. A. in 1975. He finished college in three years, and was awarded the Phi Beta Kappa Key. A 1978 graduate of Harvard Law School, he also studied theology at Harvard Divinity School and was licensed to preach by Ebenezer Baptist Church in Boston. Shortly after graduating from law school he became a Deputy Commissioner of Banks for Massachusetts. He later served three years as Executive Director of the West Medford Community Center, a human service agency. He and his wife Theodora have been married 38 years, and reside in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Martin Luther King, Jr., (January 15, 1929-April 4, 1968) was born Michael Luther King, Jr., but later had his name changed to Martin. His grandfather began the family's long tenure as pastors of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, serving from 1914 to 1931; his father has served from then until the present, and from 1960 until his death Martin Luther acted as co-pastor. Martin Luther attended segregated public schools in Georgia, graduating from high school at the age of fifteen; he received the B. A. degree in 1948 from Morehouse College, a distinguished Negro institution of Atlanta from which both his father and grandfather had graduated. After three years of theological study at Crozer Theological Seminary in Pennsylvania where he was elected president of a predominantly white senior class, he was awarded the B.D. in 1951.On December 21, 1956, after the Supreme Court of the United States had declared unconstitutional the laws requiring segregation on buses, Negroes and whites rode the buses as equals. During these days of boycott, King was arrested, his home was bombed, he was subjected to personal abuse, but at the same time he emerged as a Negro leader of the first rank. On the evening of April 4, 1968, while standing on the balcony of his motel room in Memphis, Tennessee, where he was to lead a protest march in sympathy with striking garbage workers of that city, he was assassinated.
